No less than seven seed grants and one project development support grant have been awarded by UvA’s Sustainable Prosperity Theme, offering 32 researchers a total of €290.000 and the chance to work in the coming years on new, innovative, interdisciplinary projects with potentially large impacts within the broad topic of sustainable prosperity.

The project proposals have been assessed on their aim to contribute to the mission of the Sustainable Prosperity theme, their scientific quality, potential impact, and the composition of the consortium. The Steering group concluded that the overall quality of the proposals was very good, and all proposed ideas were innovative.

While the seed grant projects explore new collaborations to work on sustainability topics from an innovative interdisciplinary perspective, the project development support project will help the consortium prepare to acquire a large research grant through competitive, high-quality calls such as Horizon Europe or NWO.

All awarded projects will be kicked off before the summer. This call is the last grant call organised by UvA’s strategic theme Sustainable Prosperity. The execution and follow-ups will be handled by UvA’s climate institute SEVEN. More news on this will follow soon.
