Ankita is a Postdoc at the University of of Amterdam (UvA) and a part of SEVEN, UvA's climate Instittue. Her research at UvA uses TIAM-ECN, an integrated assessment model, to assess hydrogen’s potential, analyzing its production, transport, storage, and consumption, while connecting with studies on public acceptance and risk perception.
Ankita's expertise includes using energy systems models to develop sustainable decarbonization pathways to inform climate action policy at the national level. She has experience modeling policy measures using energy systems optimization models to inform mitigation strategies and has also developed methodologies to enhance insights from energy systems models by leveraging existing data.
Prior to joinng the UvA, Ankita was a postdoctoral appointee at the Argonne National Lab within the Global Energy Solutions team. There she used various national- and global-level TIMES models to inform eivdence-based actions. She also collaborated on linking a global TIMES model to Argonne's power system model, ALEAF.
Ankita holds a PhD in Energy Enginnering from UCC, where she was a part of the Energy Policy and Modelling Group. During her PhD, Ankita was selected to be a part of 2023 YSSP cohort at IIASA. Her PhD thesis looks at depicting energy service demand as a mitigation lever in energy systems models.
